Delivery & Returns

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY DELIVERIES

We will be closed for the Christmas Holiday period from Friday 22nd December to Tuesday 2nd January. Orders can still be placed online during this time and will be despatched on 2nd January. If you have any queries about delivery of orders before 22nd December please call 01300 345915. For orders placed after midday Thursday 21st we cannot guarantee pre-christmas delivery but will do our best to despatch your items on Friday 22nd. For orders placed after Friday 22nd December we will despatch on 2nd/3rd January although, due to post-christmas volumes with the couriers, it may take 2 - 3 days for delivery. About Delivery

Our delivery prices are individually calculated for each customer based on the delivery address & weight of the order. In order to ensure the cheapest possible options, we calculate the specific delivery cost using prices from Royal Mail and independent couriers.

Quick Delivery Cost Estimate

To find out how much delivery will cost for your purchase, simply add products to your basket, and then visit the checkout. From there you will be given a delivery cost based on your location and weight of goods. The charge for this service starts from £1.95 and increases with the weight of your order.

Delivery Services

Standard Delivery

Our Standard Delivery times in the UK are usually within 1-3 working days of dispatch and you will receive an email when your order has left us. Saturday deliveries are available if required, and a surcharge would in some cases be applied, but please call us for this option, 01300 345915.

Delivery is made via Royal Mail Tracked 48 or Interlink/DPD courier next working day. If your delivery does not arrive within 3 working days of your dispatched email please call us, 01300 345915. Order before 1pm for same day despatch, orders placed after 1pm will be despatched next day, or, if ordered after 1pm on Friday will be desaptch on Monday.

If you will not be home to sign for the goods please give instruction, where possible, for the courier to leave the goods in a safe place. If he cannot, then he will leave a card with contact details to rearrange delivery.

European Delivery

We offer dispatch to a number of European countries including: 

  • Republic of Ireland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Belgium
  • Luxembourg
  • Netherlands
  • Denmark

Our Standard Delivery times to European destinations are usually within 3-5 working days of dispatch. We do not currently ship internationally.

Lastly

We endeavour to dispatch all orders received by 1pm the same day, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).  In most cases delivery times in the UK are within 1-3 working days of dispatch. Delivery usually occurs Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am-5.30pm.

Products may be sent out from multiple locations and therefore may arrive separately, but you won`t incur additional delivery charges as a result. On rare occasions, some items may be delivered outside the published timed windows but please call us on 01300 345915 if you are concerned.

We will attempt to consolidate deliveries into as few as possible if items are not available or due to stock shortage.  In any event we will contact you to inform you of any changes or information which may affect delivery of your goods.

Your invoice (inc vat details) will be included with your order.  If for any reason you do not wish the invoice to be included with the package e.g. sending a gift directly to the recipient, then please let us know in the delivery notes section during the checkout.

Returns Policy


If you have an item that needs returning please email customer.service@ilikechickens.co.uk to say you wish to return the item. You should give details of your address and order number and reason for return.

If you decide you no longer require the goods within 14 days of the day of receipt of the goods ('cooling off period'), we offer a full refund of original invoice including original carriage charges (excluding supplements) in accordance with EU Directive on Consumer Rights (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) i.e. return carriage costs are not refunded.

Please return the goods unused in the original packing with a copy of your invoice or confirmation email. You must return the goods to us within 14 days of informing us of your cancellation. Your refund will be paid within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods. For returned goods over the 14 day 'cooling off' period we reserve the right to charge a re-stocking charge of £5. Goods that have been used will not warrant a full refund but this will be considered on an individual basis.

You may call us on 01300 345915 to tell us about your wish to cancel your contract and we will advise on the best return method but your right to cancel must be exercised in writing as well e.g. by email, or mail.

Return of the unwanted goods can be either by mail or by courier, in which case we may arrange a collection, or send a returns label if you wish. The cost of courier collection or post will be deducted from your refund. Postal costs will be in accordance with post office charges for weight and size, and courier collection will be a minimum of £6 to a maximum of £12, this will also be according to weight of the goods and therefore courier costs. You will be informed of these costs before your return.

If you are returning goods at your own costs then please just let us know when they have been despatched. If returning for exchange please make sure the goods are returned in new condition and in the original packaging. Thank you.

For faulty or damaged goods: Please notify us immediately by phone or email if you find the goods damaged or faulty upon receipt and we will replace immediately. You may call us about a damaged or faulty item but you should also email us to comply with our returns policy. We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not comply with our returns policy.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Directive on Consumer Rights (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/consumer-contracts-information.
